During New York State’s Path Through History Weekend, the Hall will be hosting Norma Press of Geneva who will be discussing a special exhibit of over 30 rugs related to the history of the women’s suffrage movement. These rugs were created to celebrate the 100thanniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution on August 18, 1920. The rugs help illustrate this history with images of suffrage leaders, important places, and interpretations of original suffrage artwork. Some rugs underscore the importance of voting today.
The exhibit honors the celebrated women of the Hall and the thousands of local women who worked in this woolen mill during its 155 years of operation.
This event is free and open to the public on Saturday, October 8th at 12pm!
