In 2023, the National Women’s Hall of Fame announced new membership opportunities to recognize donors who make meaningful contributions in support of the Hall’s mission.

Why 1848?

The 1848 Society pays homage to the legacy of great 19th century Suffragists who propelled the American fight for gender equality. One hundred and seventy-five years ago, in July 1848, hundreds of women and men congregated in Seneca Falls, NY for what is widely recognized to be the first women’s rights convention. Today, you’ll find the stories of many Suffragists among the 300+ stories who will forever have a home at the National Women’s Hall of Fame. Like those who made the pilgrimage to the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention, your contribution stands to support a more inclusive, equitable future for all.

The Impact of Your Membership 

  • Philanthropy funds over 90% of the Hall’s operations and keeps our programs free and open to the public.  
  • Your gift helps bring the voices of our Inductees into classrooms and homes around the nation. In 2022, the Hall was able to reach nearly 50,000 individuals of all ages, from Puerto Rico, to Maine, to Colorado, to Washington. 
  • Less than 2% of all dollars donated each year go to support women’s and girls’ nonprofit organizations like the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
