Regional artists and craftspeople, including several HWS faculty members, will be featured in “A SmART Event,” an art auction to benefit the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
The event, which will be held at Artisan Works in Rochester, N.Y., from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, will feature original paintings, prints and sculptures by HWS art and architecture faculty, Professor Ted Aub, Professor Michael Bogin, Associate Professor Christine Chin, Assistant Professor Alysia Kaplan, Associate Professor Kirin Makker and Professor and department Chair Phillia Yi.
“The support from our HWS colleagues—and all of the participating artists—comes at a key moment for the Hall, as we approach the 2017 induction ceremony and the fundraising campaign to rehabilitate the Seneca Knitting Mill as our new home,” says Professor of Women’s Studies Betty Bayer, who serves as co-president of the Hall board of directors.
